- Safely & Ethically Castrate and De-tail a Lamb
Stage 3 - Cattle Theory (1pm)
Stage 3 of the day, starts off with some theory, where you'll get to learn a wide variety of topics such as:
- Lingo used in the cattle industry
- Basic fundamentals of owning cattle
- General health checks of livestock
- Health services required (vaccines & drench)
- Breeding plans & Herd Management
- Cattle behaviour & safe handling practices
- Animal Identification & PIC Numbers
- Biosecurity on your property
Stage 4 - Cattle Practical (3pm)
The practical session of the Cattle Seminar will involve applying theory to a practical session, where you will learn the following topics and more:
- How to set yards up for safe & practical use
- Safely handle & move cattle
- Types of crushes, use & safely handling cattle in a crush
- Use of a crush for cattle services
- Artificial Insemination
